GERMANY!

By Derek & Andi:

When Lisa first came to us, we had a hard time getting out to do things because it was always raining, but I guess that just meant she got a taste of what the weather is like most of the time here in Germany.
Luckily, it didn’t rain the whole time, though. On the first nice day, Derek took her out to play golf, and then she got to spend the day on post learning about all the important things that the Army does here in Germany.

She even got to see a real tank from World War II!

Then we took her around the town that we live in--Parsberg.

On our tour through town, she got to see the castle that is just around the block from us.

And last, we took her past the field of poppies that is growing just outside town. It’s really neat how they fill up an entire field with one type of flower, so it’s like a sea of red, and it seemed fitting since poppies are worn for remembrance. She said that it made her remember all the people out there who are still fighting their battles with lupus, and now every time we drive past it, so do we.

Lisa says, "Thank you to Derek and Andi!  I enjoyed my time with you!"
